TRANSCRIPT:

My name is Millie Long. I'm at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in the IBD Center. I am thrilled to be one of the co‑chairs of the Advances In IBD Regional meeting in Chapel Hill.

We're very excited to welcome everyone to this first‑time virtual event in Chapel Hill. Although we would love to be together in person, we feel that our virtual agenda is really pertinent today, especially in the era of COVID.

We've added great sessions to cover the ongoing COVID‑19 situation. In particular, we have an update from the International SECURE‑IBD Registry ‑‑ which is based out of here in Chapel Hill, North Carolina ‑‑ to review data surrounding the efficacy and safety of our therapies in patients with COVID.

Since we can't meet in person, we encourage everyone to participate in the live Q&A available after each session. We've put a lot of thought into these panels, and you'll be able to have a great interaction with our faculty.
