Maxillary Fungal Sinusitis

Todd Schaeffer, MD, who is an ear, nose, and throat specialist at ENT and Allergy Associates in Lake Success, New York, walks through a patient case where he performed surgery on a 40-year-old woman with a 1-year history of blood-tinged mucous. A prior computed tomography scan of her sinuses showed partial opacification of the maxillary sinus, which was unresponsive to antibiotics. Results of a nasal examination and chest x-ray were unremarkable.
