Eyedrop Insertion? It’s in the Sac!

Robert Cotsen, MD

Many of my patients who use eyedrops have had great success with the following technique. While sitting or standing (preferably in front of a mirror), they gently pull the lower lid down, then put the specified number of drops in the sac of the conjunctiva that is formed; afterwards, they tilt their head back a bit. I find this method works with children also.
